Last minute install questions

About ready to install my audio system and I have studied up what I could find. Two remaining questions...1. If I disconnect the negative battery terminal will there be any code/warning lamp issues when I pull the seats? 2. How about the window controls?

In short, I read that the negative battery terminal disconnect will avoid the air bag issue but does this apply to the other systems as well?

Thank you in advance!- Crucified :hello:

Shouldn't do anything to the seats as I've had battery plugged/unplugged multiple times over the past two weeks. For the windows, I had to reset them each time but that only takes about a minute between the two since it's so simple.

You will have to reset windows as stated. If you have the negative battery terminal unplugged with removal of seats and or air bag light on dash. There will be no issue, IF you plug the neg terminal in with any of them unplugged. You will get an airbag light.

What they said.

If you pull the battery cable and discharge the capacitors in the ECM (step on the brake for a second or two), then the car has no idea what you are doing. As long as everything is re-connected properly before you power back up, the car doesn't know that anything happened.

I thought they fixed the window problem in later models such as OPs 2016.

Edit: Powering down will reset learned tuning parameters (ECM will relearn quickly but car may run a little rough for a few minutes) and you will need to go through several drive cycles before the pollution controls will report as ready.

Thank you for the help! I will try and post up the results of my install. Always a bit hesitant to rip into a new car but this forum has been a TREMENDOUS help!

Nothing whatsoever happened when I disconnected mine. No windows or anything else to contend with. Just like it should be.
