Rear speaker install help

Ok before any of you go ahead and say their useless, I still would like to fill them in. I drive quite a bit and like to listen to good music. Not a huge audio guy just basic is good enough.

I have a base model 16. And they have the plugs in the rear but I hooked up my speakers and still no sound. Is there anything I need to do to the stock deck ? I'm using the stock headunit. Just wondering what those plugs are hooked up to but still no sound from them

The stock head unit can't power rear speakers -- the base models are front components only. Vehicles with the factory Bose system have rears.

You would have to run a new headunit to power those rears, and also ensure those rear plugs are actually terminated at the HU harness to do anything with them. Otherwise you will have to run new speaker wire to them as well.

Thank you. So ideally switching out the headunit should do the trick?

Also where does the harness that's located in the rear go? Is it already hooked up to the harness that goes into the radio? Or will I further need to do more

When you get an aftermarket head unit, get the harness adapter. It makes it so much easier and you don't have to hacked up the OEM wiring. This should automatically give you front and rear speakers assuming the wire you plugged I to the rears is in act connected st the harness.

I pulled my rear panels off yesterday to put rear speakers in. Except there was no cutout whatsoever in the sheet metal for them. Surprised to hear yours does and even has the wiring.

The head unit will make the single biggest improvement in your sound. Couldn't believe the difference!
