So i have a 12' alpine subwoofer from my last car, i haven't installed it into my z yet. i currently own the base model z with the sport package. Question is, what set up do you guys use? does anyone have a 12' inch sub set up in their z without the bose audio? how does it sound? i have an aftermarket kenwood headunit.

I'm in the process of installing a 13" sub. I'll let you know how it works out.

I had a 12" in a box that my buddy loaned me until my Zenclosure came in for the 10" I owned. While the 12" obviously hit harder I am still very happy with the 10". Anything is better than the stock stuff.

My only complaint on the Z box is the trunk space I lose. Golf clubs now get to ride in the passenger seat. First world problems I know.

Stereo integrity BM mk4. plenty of sub-bass for the Z.

I have a 12W3V3 in a zenclosures box and it slams. My car has the bose system though and it still overpowers the mids and highs. Speakers will go in sometime this winter.

I have that focal, it's more of a 10 inch with the opening.

Should I get replace the current speakers? With some components speakers? For the best sound to match with my 12"? I feel like if I put in my sub without any upgrade to the apeaker it wouldn't sound good at all. But then again Is my assumption. Thank you guys, you guys are always helpful and friendly ❤️

I left the tweeters in the dash, replaced the doors speakers, added the 10" sub, an amp and new head unit. The head unit pushes the door and dash speakers and the amp runs the sub.

I wasn't looking to blow the doors off, just looking for better sound than the stock junk that was in the car. Everything sounds so much better it's night and day.

A lot will depend on what kind of sound you want and how much you're looking to spend.

These are in my door: db521 - Polk Audio

This is my sub: Polk Audio DXi 104 DXi Series 10" 4-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

And here is my amp: PA660.4 - Polk Audio

Going with what apex said, the real shitty part of the system in the car are the door woofers. I know a lot of people here just swapped them out and are happy.

The lanzar's linked in the first post are not sold in pairs.

If you're going to run a sub like that PLEASE upgrade your speakers to a quality set of components (speakers AND tweeter) Like focal polyglass or their new line, even ID makes some great speakers but for God sake don't keep the stock speakers.
