Need help getting video to show with Android phone
'10 Z here. Recently switched from an Iphone 5s to a Samsung Note 5. Using the USB port in the center console doesn't appear to charge my android like it did for the iphone for some reason. Anyways, I bought a composite A/V to micro USB for the android. Audio comes out fine but there's no video. All I see is a blue screen the entire time. Would appreciate some help on the matter. Thank you.

Is this on the factory nav system? Could be you need to to a video bypass with Navtv or it could be you need to check the output of your android to make sure it is sending out through the port. It could lastly be that if you have a dedicated micro hdmi out that you will not get video through the use usb port.

You will not be able to access the data through USB from your android. It's different then an iphone.

Check your charging cable and make sure it's not a blue tooth charger (like for BT headsets). The only reason I say that is because that was the only time I had issues charging an Android in a Nissan (I've had three). I have no idea what the differences are between a BT charger and a phone charger, but that was my issue. Once I changed the charging cable out I had no problems. |
So what devices are compatible with the composite cables aside from an iphone/ipad?
I'm using the same monoprice.com charging cable In my car as I do at home. It's your typical normal micro USB charging/syncing cable. |

For the charger I used the original charging cable that came with phone. During that time my drive to and from work was long enough that I could keep my phone charged just by keeping it plugged in the car. I know that doesn't really answer your question but unfortunately it's the only one I have. |
Yep crappy apple.
