Kenwood DDX 491HD

I am looking to upgrade the head unit in my 2015 Base. I'm not looking for competition sound or to try and blow the doors off and shatter windows. I installed a pair of JVC front speakers that run a cleaner sound than the stockers however, they lack any mid range base. I have a PA660 amp and a 10" sub that I plan on installing to complete the system (once I get around to ordering the Zenenclosure). Since I know jack about car audio I am hoping someone here can let me know if the linked head unit is worth it. I trust the Kenwood name, but not sure if it's worth the price I would pay.

ANY feedback would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

I myself am not a fan of kenwood because they tend to have bluetooth problems. I'd go with this if I were you.
Amazon.com : Pioneer AVH-X4700BS DVD Receiver with 7" Motorized Display, Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free, SiriusXM-Ready, Android Music Support, and Pandora (AVHX4700BS) : Car Electronics

I can't speak to the quality of the Kenwood, but I do have a Pioneer AVH unit like the one that DeliriousClam linked to that I have had zero problems with. It's an older model that I've had for a few years (P3300BT) but it was easy to install, plays DVDs while driving with a simple homemade relay, and I didn't notice any reduction in sound quality. Never had a problem with the bluetooth, and the call quality is nice and clean. I had installed it in my old DD and the speakers were a bit dated, so I don't know if it would be worse on sound quality for newer speakers or not. It handled my amp and sub just fine. I have been happy with it. I put Pioneer units in all of my cars and have never had a problem. Just my $0.02.

Best of luck with your decision!

I went with Pioneer 8100 , it is the top of the line model and is not cheap...but worth every penny ! I considered Kenwood but after watching a few Youtube video reviews and online forums..I steered away...not that they were bad but the reviewers all tended to say the same things such as the lagginess on the models with Navi which I wanted. My pioneer is snappy and runs like a charm with no issues.
