There is no aftermarket alarm (only aftermarket components to the factory alarm) and hence factory key fob.

is there a link to the info? can u still use the door switch
?

There is a link to the setup earlier in the thread. It is from a Maxima forum. I think you probably have to register there as well. However, that is what I followed. Works the same in our cars.

And yes, the button on the door still works.

thanks for the information and links guys. just ordered some sensors!

heres the diagram from the maxima forum so you dont have to register. basically, all you need is to buy a simple relay from kragen/autozone and tap the wires that vipor provided above from the BCM

If I wire an extra siren to the factory alarm will it make a continuous sound or will it pulse like the factory horn?? How do I wire it so it would make a continuous sound?

Just had an alarm fitted it has a glass break sensor also a perimeter detection so if anyone just looks in the car it gives a warning beep. If someone tries to break in it also sends me a warning text to my mobile phone or if anyone bangs the car it also sends me an alarm activation warning on my mobile. It works with a sim card fitted in the alarm so i can also track wherever the car is. The alarm make is a Toad.

So I can purchase these 3 sensors you have listed and have a professional install it on my factory alarm correct?

yep...although you could always do it yourself. its pretty simple with the diagrams/pictures posted above. the sensors really just send a pulse telling the stock alarm that one of the doors was opened (which triggers the stock alarm).

370zproject 12-30-2010 06:23 AM

and the door button disables it?

correct you are. the relay in the picture that i snipped from the maxima forum above does most of it:

Without the timer you would not be able to immedialy lock the doors and put the factory alarm in "pre-arm" due to the shock sensor sending a gound pulse to the trunk switch. It would cancel the "pre-arm" because it would sense the trunk was open and the alarm would never fully arm. If you wanted to wait about 10 seconds after the last door was shut everytime then the timer wouldn't be required.

It's doable

They now make a direct plug and play kit for select nissans allowing aftermarket alarms and aftermarket remote starts. Usually these are through Direct (viper) and usually take about an hour by the time you install and program everything to do.

Navster 03-07-2015 06:50 PM

Is there an obd that you can plug in that sends sms messages to a preprogrammed # when car alarm goes off?
