CD cell phone mount

Any of you guys find a good, reliable cell phone mount for the 370z that works with the CD player?

There's several products out there that fit that description, but I was curious if any of you guys found one that fits and works well with our cars.

Thanks in advance.

I suppose anything's possible, but it really just sits in the plastic part of the slot... I haven't had any issues. Seeing since it's not 1998, I personally have no need for a CD player lol

Dude, the guy on the block still gives us his latest freestyle raps on tape decks! I ditched the CD player for a good deck player :ughdance:

Any chance you can take a picture of it in your Z with/without a phone on it? I've been looking for a while for a phone mount and haven't found anything I like yet. I've been looking at the Case Co Core 360 but I really don't love the idea of a "permanent" mount and having to keep a magnet on my phone as well.

I can take a picture later on

Here are a couple quick snaps... it may not look like it but you can still open the cubby when the phone is in the mount.

Hope these help

The only downside to the CD slot is the dust blocker reforms to the the CD mount and takes forever to lay flat again.

100% true... this could really be an issue for my OCD if I ever remove it!

Vent clip

I use a Garmin vent clip to the right of the cubby.
I mount a phone on an Arkon adapter that attaches to the Garmin ball.
There's just a thin plastic plate that attaches to the back of the phone with double-sided tape that slips into the Arkon adapter.
I also use a Pro Clip mount for a Garmin GPS I run. That's an option open to you as well.

I got one of these in February, and it works like a dream. You just have to not force it into the CD slot; it kind of sits on the edge, but the grip is good enough.

Sadly, this was, in fact, the result. Just two days ago, actually (which is why I'm poking around in the Audio & Video part of the board). I got my Z washed and vacuumed, and I think they sprayed cleaning stuff on the dash/around the stereo. When I went to put the cell phone mount in immediately after the wash I think I pushed some liquid in there, and my head unit is now mostly dead: the XM still works (thank goodness), and the steering wheel controls work, but the display is dead and the only button on the unit itself that works is power/volume. CDs won't eject or play, etc.

After drying everything out (2.5 hours in a parking lot) didn't help, I went to a local car audio place and they quoted me ~$500 (and 4-5 days) to remove the unit, send it out for repair, and then replace it. I won't have that kind of money for another month or so, at which time I'll call around and see if I can get any lower estimates. And/or maybe I can find a place that can do the repair on-site. In the meantime, I'm feeling very lucky that six XM stations are still options while I'm driving (I can access FM via the steering wheel "source" button, but it goes to static and I have no way to tune/change the station).

Anyway, consider mine a cautionary tale... :(
