Backup camera question
So I just installed a moonet backup camera to my pioneer avh-x3700bhs last night. I thought I had it working properly but I was wrong. It will come on if I have the head unit setting to camera on and in av mode with the car in reverse. If I take it out of av mode and put the car into reverse it does not come on, I hear it power up but the screen doesn't switch to the camera. Anyone have experience with this camera? This is what it looks like http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...L._SL1000_.jpg
I have the black power cords red and black wire soldered to the reverse light but the red wires on the aux cord aren't attacked to anything. An instal video I watched on this camera didn't mention attaching the red wires to anything, and it seemed to work without them so i thought I was fine. |
I had a similar problem installing an avh-x2700bs last week. You need plug the camera cable into the brown backup camera input on the h/u, NOT the a/v input. Try that. It takes a second or two when you shift into reverse, but that should do the trick. I was scratching my head on this too. Pioneer's owners manual isn't very clear on that part.

I had the same issue, your going to have to hook up the red wire to the head unit. Your going to have to research which wire at the head unit requires the red wire. I'll take a look at it for you now.

From what I can find, your looking for the purple and white wire from the radio harness. Tap that with the red wire from the camera and you should be good to go. It may be labeled "Reverse rear signal input".
Set the camera polarity to "battery". Like mentioned before, plug the video input to the dedicated "rear view camera input" |
OP what was the resolution as I'm experiencing the same issue. Thanks.

So tap the red wire that's attached to the yellow video Cable directly to the purple/white wire on the harness, and then how about the other end of the red cable? |
I have the same thing and I believe I tapped the reverse light in the hatch for that red wire
