Easiest Tablet Install?

For those of you who have installed a tablet into the cubby above our radio, what have you seen or used for the easiest fitment?

I know Ipad minis are pretty much perfect for the hole but are there any androids that are close?

You will want to stick with a 6-7" screen size.
I think most go with Android Nexus tablet it seems, easy to fit, throw in a custom ROM and a few extra controls and you never have to take it out. Powers up when the car is on (and off when the car shuts off), bluetooth, good quality screen, etc.

Hey dreamer, do you know the name of the screen you have? What's size is it?

I believe the Nexus 7 is almost identical to the iPad mini. At least I know that my N7 fits over the cubby very similarly.

I just did this with a Toshiba Encore 8" windows tablet. Should work for any 8"
Mounted with some foam blocks cut to size and double sided tape on the back

I just had time to work on this again, here it is:
Attachment 102512

The gap around the sides/bottom is ugly and I plan on filling it in later, but for now i need it for all my temp wiring (and to press the power button on the tablet)

Also, sorry for shitty phone camera.

I just did this with a Nexus 7. I just neodymium magnets and Liquid Nails. Works pretty well so far.

so you got 2015 up top and 1995 on bottom..

I like the stock head unit, it works just fine. Plus its the touring no nav, so I would have had to get a base face plate and a new head unit. I only use the tablet for gauges and google maps. Plus this way the tablet is removable for updates, changes, anti-theft blah blah.
