2009 OEM Navi with Backup Cam

I Just ordered a backup cam for my car. Everything on DIY backup cam is for 2010+. I am not trying to go the navi video interface route.

Can I use the video input in my center console for the backup cam video and tap the power source to the backup lights? I know that the 2009 and 2010+ navi are different. However, can I hook it up into the pins on my OEM unit like the 2010 DIY backup cam tutorial?

Does anyone know how to get into the secret menu for the 2009 OEM navi? Please explain!

I've tried turning the car on to acc mode, turn off volume button, with it pressed down rotate 360 degrees 2-4 times, but nothing happens.

Secret menu for 2009 oem navi? I got this off of an g37 (2009 model w/oem navi) website. I read it is the same navi system. So why wouldn't work, right? I'll let you know tomorrow.

1. Start the engine.
2. Turn the audio system OFF.
3. While pressing the “SETTING” button, turn the volume control
dial clockwise or counterclockwise for 40 clicks or more. (When
the self-diagnosis mode is starts, a short beep will sound.)
• Shifting from current screen to previous screen is performed
by pressing the “BACK” button.

it didn't work...

I installed the backup cam where the license plate light use to be. I soldered the power and ground to the reverse light on the driver side. I ran the video to the center console for now. Everything powers up and looks good...

However, I have to press the aux on the navi to video, parking brakes one click up, and put it in reverse, and video stop if the car moves more than 1 mph.

I know there is an optional $200 navtool and $149 bypass harness. I rather spend that towards something else.

I will look into the install the video to the stock plug to the navi and see if that is plausible.

Have anyone figured out the secret menu for the 2009 yet? I searched several different sources and no one seems to know. I was hopeful that the 2009 Infiniti stock navi secret menu technique would work but it did not.

Even if you change the navi speed calibration if you go over 1-2mph the video feed will cut off and e-brake has to be at least on 1 click. Looks like the Navtool or bypass harness is the way to go. Another project for another time... CAI and CBE are my next projects...

Finally got around to ordering a Navtool. Item number 819346016176 on NAVTOOL INC for $200. I'll be installing a front facing camera since I have a carbon fiber lip.

Bought this camera from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Car Rover Universal Car Rear View Camera 360 Degrees Adjustable HD Color Night Vision. Hopefully, everything will be here this week.

NAVTOOL has horrible customer service. Long story short it took three months to get my money back from them. They claimed that USPS and UPS lost my unit. I love PayPal! They got my money back. I ended up finding someone selling their NAVTOOL V2 unit for about half the price. It works now. The rear backup cam comes on during reverse. I need to wire my front camera, but I think I might save that output for a mirror cast unit now. however, I should use it for a front cam because of my carbon fiber lip.

After install make sure to reset your passenger airbags... turn car on (press start button 2x), watch the blinking airbag symbol goes off, turn car off, wait for 5 sec, and repeat 3x...

All set... ran my front camera and hooked it up to the NAVTOOL V2. V2 uses ground and V3 uses alt 12v to switch between video inputs. My next project will either be RJM clutch pedal or blind spot monitor system...
