Thank You Everyone for Reporting the Spammers (and keep doing so)
 

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for reporting these spam posts. This forum is run by members like you! I truly appreciate it. Please give yourself a pat on the back. :tiphat:. It's a big help because there's so much going on in the background, we actually rely on these reported posts a lot. Second of all, big thanks to the Trips and frost for taking care of them asap. They are doing a fantastic job :tup:.

It looks like a bunch of old spam accounts has been activated/used by a computer program or even real human to make these posts. I do remember seeing similar thing happen last year or the year before. They get VERY active for a week or two and then everything dies down and they disappear. FYI, I have stopped all new registrations since last week bc I wanted to pinpoint if it's new or existing accounts (which was the later) that are causing this problem. I have also changed how members get registered now. I switched to questions based with a lot more questions (and trickier) added to the database instead of just one question which I used to have. This seems like the most effective one.

At this point, I'm working with someone to look into the matter. I'm also watching it quietly and see if it stops or slows down (like last time). In the mean time, please continue to report these spam posts as you see them. We will do our best to remove them asap. I do apologize ANY inconvenience it causes and I really appreciate your patience. You
