THE370Z downtime on 11.24.10

First of all, I'd like to apologize for such a long downtime yesterday :(. We were working on it continuesly to bring the site back up online. It was a combination of things that brought the site down. A failing HD along with some configuration settings on the server were the culprit for the downtime yesterday. I'm very sorry :(. Every single minutes of downtime felt like a day to me! I hate it. I was shocked how many people browse this forum everyday. It has almost became a part of their daily life/routine. I have gotten FB messges from people who don't even OWN a 370Z yet they were missing the website! It's amazing how much information you can exchange on these online message boards :tup: ...

Please check for any errors during your browsing today. If you see any, take a screen shot and pm (or email it to me - the370z@live.com). Also, there might be another small "expected" downtime sometime this week. I'll keep you guys well informed.

I know many people had absolutely no clue what was going or didn't get any update since the main site was down. This is why I always suggest members to become a FAN of our FB page http://www.the370z.com/images/370Z%2...k%20Button.gif. I usually update every hour or two with "status update" on what's going on. Also, if you have a question or just want another place to "hang out" before THE370Z comes back online, you can ALWAYS visit our Nismo forum. You'll find most of your regular THE370Z crew there. Bookmark the site if you like: Nismo 350Z / Nismo 370Z Enthusiast Community

Thank you for your continued patience. If it wasn't for your support, this site would NOT be here today. Thank you :tiphat:

Failing HD's... I hate that. This is one of the reasons why I run raid on all of my machines:

Home box:
Code:

# Name            Raid# Level  Capacity Ch/Id/Lun  State
===============================================================================
 1 WINDOWS VOLUME    1  Raid6    129.0GB 00/00/00  Normal
 2 MAC VOLUME        1  Raid6    30.0GB 00/00/01  Normal
 3 LINUX VOLUME      1  Raid6    129.0GB 00/00/02  Normal
 4 DATA VOLUME        1  Raid6  35712.0GB 00/00/03  Normal

As I work in the web-hosting industry I know downtime is pretty much unavoidable sometimes unless you are paying a ton of money in load balancers, multiple servers, and mysql replication and its not easy to manage. Downtime is to be expected for just a free community forum and generally I find the site running very well/fast. Glad there wasn't any major data loss.
