Color for housing?

hey guys i'm getting my headlights done but i cant decide on what color to do housing. I'm for sure doing red shrouds and single halo. I'm on the fence on doing black housing, oem (i think that would be too much matching) or gun metal housing. any suggestions, even pictures would be great. thanks :tiphat:

I colored matched my housings and shrouds to match the 40th color. The only thing with a different color is the reflector which I did satin black. I personally think the color matched blends a little better than a matte black housing, to much contrast that way. Btw be prepared to lose a lot of illumination when you get them done.

I am looking to get my headlights done as well. What I'm thinking right now is Matte Black or Flat Black housing, with the OEM 40th color for my shrouds... I personally think the Red shrouds are too much. But that's just my opinion. I want to go with dual orb rings, but am undecided on Red or White LED rings?

I think Red shrouds are too much also. It's all personal preference though. :)

I went with satin black with OEM projector housings. Then I added a touch of red by painting the lens retainer ring. Dual halo....

Anyone else with the painted surroundings feel like the lost a lot of illumination? I expected some, but not this much.

Honestly, I haven't driven at night with them yet. I did upgrade to 6k bulbs though, and it seems like the halos are super bright at night too. I also upgrade the marker light to a 6k led bulb.

That looks really good, pretty much what I'm looking to do. Still wondering if dual halos in red would be too much?... might stick with white.

I wouldn't do the halos in red. You'd only get minimum use out of those since you can't drive around like that unless you want to take your chances with a ticket. I added demon eyes as well. Although, I have yet to wire them to the controller and battery so don't have any pics yet. But, that might be a way to get your red fix. I just hooked them up to a controller by remote. I can turn them off and on whenever.

Good idea, I'll have to rig something up like that. Thanks for the ideas!

I don't think I did. Maybe a bit. I did gloss black surrounds and a satin housing. I changed to a 6k bulb at the same time, but that's not going to be a dramatic difference.

I'm getting my headlights done this Saturday. I'm going with satin black housing and gun metallic shrouds to match the nismo. I will also do single halos.

Don't forget to look up Sti-R clear lens, that will help with the illumination.
