nismo s tune body kit from factory??

hey guys im a new owner to a 2010 370z 40th :-) and wanted to know if i ordered the s tune nismo front, side, and rear valances from the dealer can they match our 40th graphites color??? i know they can match all other stock colors but was not sure about the 40th :-/......

LafitteZ 02-25-2013 09:39 PM

Yeap but you'll prolly want to repaint the whole car. I don't fine blending looks very well.

Team_Kengai 02-25-2013 09:43 PM

really?? becouse i hered most people that take it to the local body shop cant match the code so they order straight from nissan and said it matched at least thats what i read on the fourms here ... but r u sure??? have u ordered a part for your car and it didnt match?

Go look at my car two posts down. About to install the stillen kit. The whole car needs to be painted to get it to look perfect. You can make it work with blending but to make it perfect I suggest painting the car. Others may disagree.

I'll be the one who disagrees.
If you paint your car, people like ME will know and either I'll lowball the F Out of you, or turn you down

If your paint guy is worth half a damn, he'll either match the factory KAV paint code then adjust it to match your car, or he'll start from scratch and match it...

Thing with a lot of cars, it depends at what angle you paint the car, so the paint/pearl/glitter settles in a certain way

Yep thats why we matched the kav as good as possible and the whole car is getting painted. A guy at z1motorsports( whom which is fired from there now) Decided he would drop my fender on the ground scratching the crap out of it. Well instead of telling his boss he took it upon himself to bring the fender to a paint shop and have them paint it. Needless to say it was close to an untrained eye but when i had it in the sun I was like WTF. So in order to get the hood, doors, bodykit, etc etc We really had no choice but to paint the whole thing. Try to match all that and blend wouldve been a nightmare.

Team_Kengai 02-25-2013 10:26 PM

yeah but doesnt nissan just straight up supply the color ?? i saw somewerre on the threads body shops having to order a can of it straight from nissan to match? or if u do that u still have to blend it????? i talked to nissan dealer earlyer and they said they can order it from the factory and have it painted but i forgot to ask if they can paint it 40th... (-_-) ill call tommarow to varify..

LafitteZ 02-25-2013 10:29 PM

I believe in that thread the price was astronomical

AND since all the cars weren't painted on the same day with the same batch of paint, that'll be a worthless thing to even find out

I forgot to add, your prep work will make a world of difference too. Put MULTIPLE layers of primer, (I believe Nissan uses a gray primer on the body too)

That F-ING BLOWS!!!
No wonder the guy lost his job... The REpaint must have cost SOOOOO much!
But at least now your paint matches on the whole car, not mismatched bumpers

Seems really steep, i paid $800 with a $100 tip to paint my side skirts, rear spats and mold/paint my front lip.

As for color match... i good painter should be able to make it extremely close at least close enough that you would be the only one that notices it after they blend it into the car. But like others said if you want perfect you will need to paint the whole car.

LafitteZ 02-26-2013 08:08 AM

Damn good looking car mannn^^^^. Yea mine is 2500 for paint and body work. This guy was invited by sema for his work so I know he's top notch. It should be done anyday now. I made a thread a couple threads down.

kensin0429 02-26-2013 03:12 PM

Our color code is a combination of colors like 8-9 can't remember and it doesn't come in a jar ready to spray it needs to be made from scratch all the time,if your painter knows how to make the paint they will follow the instructions to the T,every drop of blend everything counts every gallon all have to be on the dot, if they can manage that then your paint will be fine then it's all in the clear coat process I really good planner will do a good job and you will not be able to tell it was painted unless you find the painted line or if you paint the door jams
