Self-healing clear coat
Am I the only who who didn't know that our cars have a self-healing clear coat?
I tripped out because we put a sticker on my hood for a car show. The show was indoors and the sticker was only on the car for a day. When I took the sticker off, there was an indentation on the clear coat the shape of the sticker, kind of like someone putting a branding iron to a cow. After a day of letting the car bake in the sun, the indentation went away |
We do not have the self healing clear coat. That is only in the European version of the 40th anniversary.

what was is then? :roflpuke2:
because i was told the 09s don't have it but the 10s do |
I've read this too... nothing about only in Europe tho... seams silly that they would use different clear coat for different regions.

Look to the self healing clear coat discussion from a previous thread. |

If my '09 had self-healing CC, then maybe it would have enveloped the bird pooh on my hood, thereby causing a paint black hole reversing the direction of time and sending the pooh out to grab that little bastard that crapped on my car and damaged my paint and choking the feathers off of him.

Self healing clear coat sucks. Once you scratch it or put swirl marks in it, that area can only self heal once. It is also a royal PITA to polish, the most challenging I have ever worked with.
