What kind of paint did you use on your front bumper? Did your painter mix his own? Trying to get some stuff done on my 40th and having a hell of a time getting a color that matches OEM.

All I know is the original owner had everything done at the dealership before he picked it up to take it home from ordering his 40th, when he knew the 1000 units were being produced. I know that doesn't help, but I have no clue my friend....

Definitely an interesting tow through the mountains of West Virginia but we're finally back home and ready to go to the meets. I was originally going to drive her back but with only 4k miles I just couldn't do that to her.

Completely understand ya! The funniest part is I have a vid clip of me trying to park it up forwards the first time.....until the tire straps wouldn't reach the tires, bahaha!

This is a total of 40ft (26ft truck, 4 ft gap, 10ft auto transport) of real estate flying down the highway, 80mph the whole way from Philly to Charlotte, NC (11 hrs, rough drive to say the least!).

Hahaha, uhaul tried saying they wouldn't let me tow it like that. Told them to screw off, only way to make it work. Aviator struggled up hill and when I installed the class three hitch I had to take the muffler off. The air ended up melting through the bumper so now I have to replace that and repaint it. Grrr. Worth not putting 1000 miles on the baby though. Lol

It was raining but the car was clean at the time lol

This pic though tells me I might need to install that lip due to the sides and rear, made up my mind, I'm doing it!

I paid $375 one way from Indiana to Virginia. I'd imagine that's a base price for one way regardless of locations.

Same here, $337 is what I paid for my trip. I believe 40thAnnz is correct on the price that it's the same for regardless where your destination(s) may be.

TheGreatOne 07-21-2012 10:48 AM

Thanks guys, thats pretty reasonable. Then I guess you rent one of their trucks or have one of your own.

Looking good!!! What lip are you thinking? I have the same sides, tow hook, and a stillen lip sitting in the garage waiting to get installed. So don't use that lip or we will end up being twins.

Carboy: Post a side shot of your entire car in the 40th's with aftermarket wheels section>

LMBmikeZ 08-17-2012 08:43 AM

carboy281 - you shouldn't actually put the gas cap down like that on a painted surface gas is bad for paint! if you look on your gas tank door there is a little piece sticking out right below the "premium fuel only" sticker then the little line on the cap has a square kinda ring on the side about 2 inches down from the cap (you can see it in your pic actually) that hooks on there and then you don't have to worry about getting gas on your paint. It also leaves it dangling away from the car so it makes no contact....... sorry to rant little to crazy about paint and detailing crap and noticed it right away :shakes head: sorry......

 sweet wheels though, add full car pics if you can, we would love to see!

Second that, gotta take care of the beautiful quartz color.

carboy281 08-17-2012 10:31 AM

Lol sorry 40th brothers, i'll make sure to take's ya'll advise... I should have more pics soon.. I have to add a 30mm spacer in the back and doing 25mm inthe front. Needz more POKE....

LMBmikeZ 08-17-2012 10:42 AM

No worries mon!

one question though, are you already running the 30mm or are you going to be putting them on? only ask cause if that's the wheel with 30mm then how wide is the rim? 8.5", 9"?

EDIT: sorry just re-read that saw you said you need to add the spacers

I am pretty sure that 25mm in the front get a lil rubbing occasionally, might want to look into that. At least I know it would rub with the OEM sport wheels IIRC.

Spacer's

I'v had 20X9.5 Work rims in the front and 20X11 work rims in the rear. Slammed the car with this setup with no rubbing issues.. Offset look pretty bad and had lots of room to add a spacer.. I'v added 25mm on other ppls 370z and feel a 30mm will look better in the rear.. Thats just IMO. I'm looking for a bit more POKE that is the reason im doing a 25mm in front. Sorry i'm always trying differnet and feel it will work.. Checkout my pics i'v always tried to be be a lil different since my Honda days :) Cheers to all my Z bro's !!!

My new room mate and I cleaned up the cars and went to lunch and then took some pics. The non-iPhone pics will be up later ;) I need to adjust my belt after eating that burrito. Delicious and only $5 on Saturdays with a drink.
