CF look on a 40th

a buddy and i were gonna help a friend wrap his roof in CF... but i end up wrapping my 370z first haha..
heres the pics, i think it looks pretty good. i was debating on if i should do it or not cuz our colors are so unique i dont really want to cover it. but it turned out great |
looks nice :)

Looks really good congrats.
I'm not a fan of the faux wrap but if you are going to do it, clearcoat it.
I dont think you can clearcoat that stuff. Ive found that anything on it changes the way the light reflects off of it and it just turns out looking black.
thanks for the comments:)
and for the clear coating, i dont think i will be doing that. i've seen number of cars that did small portions and the whole car without clear coating it. i hope i will be okay haha |
Looks good...only I wouldn't have done the gas door...reminds me of an Eclipse haha...but, the rest of the wrap is great!

I think clearcoating it would make it look more like a panel and less like a sticker. |

Now do your fangs and rear diffuser so we know if it'd look good or not. |
NYbladeZ, I work with carbon so I got some of this vinyl and tried resining over it to see what happened. It lost all definition and turned just black. I peeled it apart to see if there was any chance the epoxy "ate" it but it was still fine. I did the same thing with some rattle can clear. Once you got enough on it to get coverage it was black, no more weave look visible

Like the matt finish roof look, but not a big fan of faux anything.
im waiting for my friend to vinyl wrap someone's car so i can take some left over for the fangs and rear diffuser! lol. as for the hood... im not sure.
i really want a dry CF hood, but its really expensive. i might buy a wet cf hood and vinyl it... |
If you wanted to do that why wouldn't you just vinyl the factory hood and not waste the money?
well im aiming for dry carbon fiber hood cuz i think it matches my vinly CF better. But if i cant afford dry carbon, than ill at least get a wet cf hood. im not sure which way im going to go yet,
just go legit CF so you don't regret going cheap, every time I see the faux CF it just looks cheesy you will be better off and happier with the results if you wait till you can get the funds for the real deal!
i agree with going with real dry cf hood! i just gotta start saving up!! :P
if you wanna make your faux cf overlay look more real, add a layer of clear bra on top of it.
nah, i like it better when it doesnt have the clear coat. but when i saw the dry cf hood, the color was flat, no clear coating on top
Really dosnt look good at all. But thats just my 2cents.
