Paint question. need help!!

So I dropped off a bumper at a local shop, they've tried 2x and both times they cant seem to be even close to the 40th color. I follow some of the fellow 40th builds on the forum and most of you guys seem to have zero issues repainting/matching body kits, lips, rear spats, etc. so i was wondering if there are any tips your paint shop might share? The shop keeps telling me they want to blend it with fenders but I dont want to mess with original color, they claim bumper will never be a perfect match which i think is bs. I'm looking for a new shop at the moment but no luck so far. I'd appreciate any feedback. :tiphat:

Maybe check this thread and contact member '370z 40th'. His number is in that thread and he's in katy, tx. I can't vouch for him, but I remember reading his posts - he has a custom paint shop and he seems to have the formula for the 40th paint and air pressure settings to use...

Are they using paint with the KAV paint code? The only reason I ask is when I went into my local Nissan dealership to get touch up paint, they initially ordered the wrong one. So, apparently the paint difference can even throw off the dealerships..

Aside from that, metallic greys and silvers are notoriously hard to get right. It all comes down to how skilled your paint shop guy is.
