vibrating noise

I wonder if anyone experience a vibrating noise like some metal parts came loose from the back of the car. I asked the dealer and they told me that is normal for the Z???

I had that too, I heard it right after they replaced my tranny. I took it back and they tighten some thing that holds the exhaust and muffler. Every now and then it comes back, especially when the car is hot from being driven home from work.

Can you trace it down? I don't have that issue but the high pitch whine from the ECM.

I tried by I don't have a lift to lift the car up in the air. I still hear it every now and again. I still think it's coming from my muffler system, like a heat shields.

I have the exact something. Happens more on the expressway during hot days. I have taken to the dealership and they said it's normal. It's deffinately not normal. But I haven't considered looking at the heat shield. It sounds internal but sound travels through metal strange. So ya. Keep me updated and I'll do the same. Thanks

Have a different dealership take a look. Tell them that you are in town was wondering what was that random vibration you hear. Other than that, my whole cabin started vibrating with my sick cbe. :driving:

sounds like i have the same problem.... a vibrating noise that sounds like its coming from the hatch area on hot days.

Anyone figure out what it is yet? and how to fix it?

There is a fix for these vibrations. You just dynamat the entire car.

Remove the heat shield behind the exhaust. I could hear it after the HFC install. Basically that crap gets loose and vibrates a ton. :)

My buddy removed all his heat shielding attached to the bottom of the car in his 350z... It can get that bad.

That's only true if you keep your windows rolled up. ;) I could hear it reverb off buildings I drove by.
