This is around what I paid for my car, fully loaded (yes, even nav), brand new.

I just checked autotrader, used one for $31K with only 147 miles on it.

If this was a case of him being upside down on his last car that he traded in for the Z, that wouldn't be so bad.

However, if this was a case of the dealer taking him to the cleaners, and ends up paying $40k+ for a 6MT base, that would be sad.

I believe it's the latter, since he doesn't have a clue about resale prices, Or taking 2 minutes to peruse the forum, or kbb.com

I found that one on autotrader. It's a base model, no sport package and 31k is over MSRP on a used car. Most dealer prices on the used 370's are dumb. I was fortunate enough to find my touring+sport for 30k even with 11k miles on it.

Unless "hot" means "stolen and I need to pay for attorney fees".

Yep, I found that one because the OP has has a base as well.

I bought my Monterey Blue with barely 3000 miles, Base with Sport Package and an Eclipse AVN726e navi installed already for $26,865.

you may want to part out the car first, cause 37k is high for a base
