**** 2008 BMW M3 Coupe - 6 speed/Alpine White/Fox Red/navi/tech/premium/PDC/19" ****
I recently bought a 1970 240Z and experiencing a bit of Z fever. Curious to see anyone that would want to trade their Z+cash for my M3. I can also buy your car outright (found a '09 blk fully loaded for $26K with just 15K miles) as well if its at a very attractive price (I just prefer trade to avoid all the sales tax). I would only trade/buy white or blk colors cars with touring + sport package with 6speed manual. Navi is a plus. No lemons, accidents, salvaged, 30K mile cars.
Now about the car: It currently has just 17,xxx miles. Clean title, zero accidents, no mechanical/electrical issues. All the maintenance work are up to date, BMW free maintenance/warranty is good till March 2012 or 50K. The title is in my possession. Asking $49K OBO. 2008 E92 M3 Coupe Alpine white exterior Fox red interior Carbon fiber dash trim 6 speed manual Options: Tech Package Premium Package Navigation Comfort Access Heated Seats Rear PDC Rear Sunshade Moonroof 19" Forged 220M Wheels w/ Michelin tires Additions: Painted side gills Painted side reflectors Wrapped 3M Di-Noc carbonfiber look center console ZHP short shift knob Tint done by CA Tint with lifetime warranty Note: The exhaust, Amuse Ericcson carbonfiber trunk, diffuser, the 5 spoke wheels are NOT included but can be negotiated in the sale. |
Love that interior! Factory rims would help your cause, GLWS.
|
the forged factory 19" 220M wheels are included. i'm keeping those 20", massive lips.
|
Wow, that's tempting. Too bad you are in California.
|
Sorry to hijack the thread, but I would love to see some pics of the 240 you just purchased.
|
I must say very nice job laying down that 3m carbon wrap

funny if you had asked me 2 weeks ago I wouldve been all for selling you my supercharged 370, full suspension, wheels, etc.

Just went the same route as you.. Good choice!!!
I traded in my 08 M3 6MT with Navi with 16K miles on it.. Loved my BMW but wanted to get a 370z.. Have to say - I love my 370z!!! I do not miss my M3 as I love the looks of the interior and body design as well as the speed in the 370z. It helps that mine was fully loaded. 09 370z touring with Navi - White with Coil Overs, Greddy TiC Exhaust, 20's,and much more.. :) Plenty of power and not missing the M3... Not trying to knock the M3 - just saying not missing it with my 370z... Good luck!!!

nice list of cars; especially the 997.2 c2s |
can owners chime in. i'm reading all the reviews and they said the engine sounds unrefined as the rpm cilmbs. and the road noise in the cabin is on the high level.
i dont really mind the noise since the old datsun has absolutely zero sound dampening (used to it). but the rpm comment is a bit disappointing. on the m3, as the engine pulls to a nose bleed 8,300 rpm, its a sirens song. i drive with my stereo in mute cause i just love the engine/exhaust tones. |
I happen to love the sounds of the Z motor throughout the entire rpm range.
and if you plan on modding the car then I would advise against a Nismo. They are terrific cars but you're paying for the suspension(that you'll probably upgrade), the exhaust(that you'll probably upgrade), and a body kit:ugh2: ...oh ya, the wheels are nice though. At least with a touring model you'll get heated leather seats and some other goodies. The BOSE is alright, keeps the weight down and sounds ok, not stellar. Possibly NAV if you choose that route, auto dimming mirror with garage door openers. In my personal opinion, somebody who mods their car would skip over the Nismo because you'll be paying for parts that won't be on the car long anyways. |
It's actually not the motor that sounds hoarse, it's the crappy stock exhaust and muffled intake. I've heard some glorious sounding Zs. Don't let that put you off.
|
i got a chance to drive a members car today and i didnt find the engine noise to be unrefined. granted the motor was simply just loud but with a sweet sounding exhaust (he had a tanabe medallion), it should overpower it. the engine sounded very mechanical; not sure if thats a bad thing. i dont expect it to sound like a ferrari as it revs, maybe that's what the magazine editors meant by it?
but boy i miss the exhaust note on japanese 6cylinders (my last two cars have been v8's). |
my experience...

On the unrefined sounds as the rpm climbs? I don't know about that.. I like the way my Z sounds but honestly it will never sound like my old 2008 M3. V8 Forced induction? I loved that sound!! But I have no regrets with going the 370z route. Overall I think it's a better looking car than the M3 and the cabin is like a cockpit! I have the one with the Navi and I love the look of it!! Again - nothing will sound like your M3.. But the 370z with the right exhaust will still sound sweet! Good luck!! Hope this helps from a fellow - ex-M3 owner.. :) |
