$55,000.00 well over 100k to replicate!
As seasons change its time to move on to the next project. The Z is finally well sorted all that remains is tweaking the suspension to different setups and tracks. The car is very fast and sounds amazing. Hundreds of hours of development and testing have gone into this one of kind piece. 1. Oil cooling solved via a one of system designed and tested in house. • 220 temp sustained at over 500whp on track • 12 qt custom system w/two coolers 2. Fuel starvation solved • Custom 15 gal ATL fuel cell with built in surge tank and foam • still uses the factor fill location on the fender • Custom Aeromotive return fuel system will support over 1000whp 3. Eliminated over 50#s of unnecessary bracing • Solid subframe bushings designed and tested in house eliminate the need for the crazy amount of bracing in the stock Z The car is currently configured to Redline Time Attack Mod rear wheel drive specs. The class required factory glass and factory dash and console to remain, weight in the current configuration is 3000# dead (wet) This car has weighed 2800#s on track with glass in it, prior to the turbo upgrade. If you wanted to run it Unlimited, or just track day, or NASA TT you could drop 200#s with the addition of a full slick, lexan and a light battery We have had to do nothing to the car but change fluids for the last few months. It is very reliable; always starts right up, no smoke, no noises, no dead batteries, no codes, just a very solid car. We have had the Z at many events and it has always proved to be tough and reliable under the harshest of conditions. The touch screen gauge package allows the monitoring off 52 different parameters, as well as read and clear codes. I have never had a car failure that has kept us off the track. It is still registered and insured. I drive it to events on occasion if they are very close. The looks you get on the highway are priceless! Here's the quick and dirty .... 1. CnR heat exchanger radiator 2. CnR oil cooler 3. -10 oil lines 4. GReddy twin turbo kit install 5. custom filter relocation and -10 lines 6. OSgiken clutch 7. HKS boost controller 8. chase cam 9. AMS shifter 10. GReddy informeter touch gauge 11. chassis wire strip and rewire 12. JRZ suspension (tuning and spring rates) 13. suspension setup 14. AeroTech Labs Fuel Cell (custom 15 gal) 15. custom fire wall 16. custom fuel return system 17. relocated diff cooler for fuel cell 18. custom fab'd two in to one exhaust 19. aero latches 20. solid subframe bushings 21. CCW 18" wheels 22. 18x305 front tires 18x335 rear 23. fire suppression system 24. AEM a/f 25. modified nismo front bumper 26. with custom splitter 27. AreoMotions Active wing 28. tons of custom one off trinkets :) Interested parties should contact me for additional details. Reasonable offers will be considered. The car is ready for delivery immediately. We are advertising on multiple platforms and reserve the right to remove it at any time. |
Even though this is the wrong section, that is one hell of a car. I would get excited too if I saw that go by me on the highway, such a sweet car!

Awesome Z! Any videos of the car? How well does it perform on the tracks? Any performance data?

The car performs great. It's a few ticks off the pace of a race prep'd GTR. On short tracks it fairs even better. 165mph back straight of Road Atlanta. I have run with 996 cup cars on slicks, and this car has always been on R888s due to class restriction. The brakes are stellar. You can overpower the ABS if you bite down hard or you can use it if you taper in a little. Turn in is immediate, the car points quickly and stays very flat. Getting on power obviously requires reserve as there is an overabundance of it. On low boost (450whp) you can typically be WOT by track out. High boost (520) requires more finesse. track times on R888s Road Atlanta 1:34 CMP 1:42 Roebling 1:17 Sebring (very hot!) 1:25 NSS 1:07 This car on slick would really wake up. I would expect as much as 4 seconds a track on the longer tracks. Which make those times blistering fast. |
Must be tough driving with that 2 inch steering wheel!
|
Sorry to hear you have to let it go, Some lucky persons going to have a blast.
Good Luck. |
wow !!!
|
My god, already?! Lol... We're probably all (at least me) dying to know what the "next project" will be...

This "Z" is great!... There are so many things I want to do differently though, and it doesn't make sense to hack back into this car now that it is completely sorted. I had considered making it AWD this winter. Probably looking at 50k! that's with all the fab done in my shop. Anyone considering this... I would be glad to take it on! |
Jay, mind dropping me a PM with your thoughts on "what you'd do differently" ?
As for your next project, here's my recommendation  http://www.ausmotive.com/images/Audi-R8-GT3-03.jpg |

Jay,
I'm up at Road America this weekend, I think this is the perfect track for that car! I feel so underpowered running with the Vettes and Vipers! |

I'm not 100% sure I'm done with this platform... just finished with this one |

Sick car! GLWS. can't wait to see what you will do with the next project.
p.s. are all those gtspec and tanabe extra bracing people buy unnecessary even when you stay with stock subframe bushings? |
Jay, I may know someone who wants to pick this up.
I'll ask tomorrow and let you know. |
if the car was in Australia, i would buy it in a heartbeat!
|
can you take payments sir? :tiphat:

I'm willing to take reasonable offers. Don't read anything into it. The car is just sitting around my shop. I've done a ton of photo shoots whit it ,another one this Sunday. I just need the space. This car is built as a Time Attack Car, and I'm moving into racing. My GT3 has become my full time track whore and its simply not feasible to operate both cars.
The car will be a Z days if I still have it. Its without question one of the sickest 370s in the country. . |
^^^ tempting :excited:
|
If you ever decide to sell some stuff off of it, please please let me know!
|
Pretty much a complete track warrior. Hope whoever buys it puts it on a good use.
|
Bump for you sir. Just saw your car on ebay with no reserve.. If mine sells first I might have to pick this up.. what a freaking value!
|
man, I'd totally forgotten about this car. Wow! That about sums it up. GLWS.
|
Did this car ever sell?
|
I'm going to consider it a yes
